Welcome to Bev Community Connections

BEV is not adding services for new customers at the current time. We are continuing to support existing customers.

The BEV has offered Blacksburg civic groups free Web space since the beginning of the project in 1993. We are now pleased to offer enhanced service packages to local civic (non-profit) groups:

Community Connections

  • A Web site (up to 20 megabytes of text and graphics) Sample URL: http://civic.bev.net/yourgroup/

  • Two permanent email addresses for group use (with forwarding, if needed). Example: yourgroup@bev.net

  • A mailing list that makes it easy to send messages to your members (up to 100 subscribers). Example: yourgroup@listserv.bburg.bev.net

To help defray the costs of providing this package, there is a $20 annual fee.

 

Premium Community Connections

  • A Web site (up to 20 megabytes of text and graphics), with the option of using your own domain name. Sample URL: http://www.yourgroup.org/ 
  • Domain Name Service (DNS) for your group's domain name. 
  • Three permanent email addresses for group use (with forwarding, if needed). Example: yourgroup@yourgroup.org 
  • Two mailing lists that makes it easy to send messages to your members (up to 100 subscribers). We recommend using one for your board or leadership group, and one for your members. Example: yourgroup@listserv.yourgroup.org 
  • To help defray the costs of providing this package, there is an $87 annual fee.

 

How to Register

BEV is not adding services for new customers at the current time.

More than 150 community groups from around the New River Valley area, including Christiansburg and Floyd, use Community Connections. Your group does not have to be located in Blacksburg to use BEV services--as part of Virginia Tech, the BEV is glad to assist any non-profit group in the area.
