Town of Blacksburg Spring Cleanup

March 16, 2015 - April 10, 2015 time: All day
The Town of Blacksburg Spring Cleanup pickup is scheduled as follows:

  • Southeast Quadrant (Monday refuse and recycling service): Week of March 16
  • Northeast Quadrant (Thursday refuse and recycling service): Week of March 23
  • Northwest Quadrant (Tuesday refuse and recycling service): Week of March 30
  • Southwest Quadrant (Friday refuse and recycling service): Week of April 6
Brush, metal appliances, tires, and other debris must be placed curbside in separate piles by 7am on the Monday of your collection week. Collection services are available to residential refuse and recycling customers only. For a list of prohibited items and more information be sure to check Town of Blacksburg Public Works: Spring and Fall Cleanup or call 540-961-1142.

Blacksburg Farmer's Market

April 1, 2015 time: 2-7pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
The Blacksburg Farmer's Market happens every week in Blacksburg Market Square (Saturdays only January - March, Wednesdays and Saturdays April - December). Come see live music, sample fresh harvested produce, or spin a hula hoop in the sunshine. More than a market, it's a community gathering place, with a full calendar of entertainment and educational activities. See for lots more information.

The Blacksburg Square Dance

April 4, 2015 time: 8:00pm - 11:00pm location: VT YMCA Stuart Event Room
The NRV's community square dance and a ‘Crooked Road’ affiliated venue - with caller Lou Maiuri - music by ‘The Ridgeliners’ with fiddlers Mike Gangloff & Charlie Andersen – Appalachian roots music & dance at its best !!- held at the YMCA Y-Center, Stuart Event Room, 1000 North Main St., Blacksburg. VT Horticulture Spring Fling: Talks, Tours, and Plant Sale

Take a self-guided tour of three glorious gardens in Blacksburg. Tickets available only at the Hahn Garden during the three day Plant Sale April 23rd-25th hosted by the VT Horticulture Club. Make sure you to take advantage of the amazing array of plants for sale at the Hahn, then purchase your ticket and a map to take the tour on Saturday.
