Radford University Fall Semester Begins

Blacksburg Farmer's Market

August 29, 2015 time: 8am-2pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
The Blacksburg Farmer's Market happens every week in Blacksburg Market Square (Saturdays only January - March, Wednesdays and Saturdays April - December). Come see live music, sample fresh harvested produce, or spin a hula hoop in the sunshine. Blacksburg Market Square Jam: Wednesdays, 8-10pm

September 2, 2015 time: 8-10pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
Blacksburg’s Market Square Jam takes place on Wednesday evenings from 8-10 pm, June through September, in Market Square Park downtown on the corner of Draper Road and Roanoke Street. The Jam is an official Crooked Road affillated venue, and features traditional old time and bluegrass music. Presented by The Town of Blacksburg; see their Market Square Jam page for scheduled performers and more details.

Hacksburg Presents: 12 Hour Hackathon

September 5, 2015 time: 9:00am-9:00pm location: Hacksburg
Come show us what you've got! Individuals or teams can hack for 12 hours in our space, 9am - 9pm on Saturday, September 5th, then show off what you've accomplished. The event will be held at Hacksburg, 2200 Kraft Drive, Suite 1475, Blacksburg, VA. Demos are 9pm-10pm and open to the public. There is also the potential of a welding class occurring during the Hackathon - please contact us if you are interested. Mount Tabor Ruritan Fish Fry & Music

September 12, 2015 time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm location: Slussers Chapel Picnic Shelter
The last Mt. Tabor Ruritan Fish Fry of the year will be on Saturday, September 12th, featuring all-you-can-eat fish, fries, slaw, homemade desserts, beverages, and music. This fundraiser for Ruritan Club's community service projects has been a local tradition for over 30 years, and is held rain or shine every second Saturday of the month from May through September. Free Slightly Composted Leaves

September 19, 2015 time: 8am-12pm location: Virginia Tech Tom's Creek Basin Site
Slightly composted leaves will be available for free on Saturday, September 19th from 8am to 12pm at the Virginia Tech Toms Creek Basin site. Pickup trucks or wagons will be loaded with slightly composted leaf litter, a great soil additive for gardens. The Toms Creek Basin Site is located on Prices Fork Road near the Blimpie Mart. Up on the Roof!

September 24, 2015 time: 5:30-8pm location: Kent Square Parking Garage
