Blacksburg Farmer's Market

October 22, 2014 time: 2-7pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
The Blacksburg Farmer's Market happens every week in Blacksburg Market Square (Saturdays only January - March, Wednesdays and Saturdays April - December). Come see live music, sample fresh harvested produce, or spin a hula hoop in the sunshine. More than a market, it's a community gathering place, with a full calendar of entertainment and educational activities. See for lots more information.

6th Annual Blacksburg Brew Do

October 25, 2014 time: Noon-6pm location: First & Main Shopping District
The 6th Annual Blacksburg Brew Do, a craft beer festival, is slated for Saturday, October 25th from noon to 6pm at the First & Main Shopping District. Over 100 different beers from around 40 local, Mid-Atlantic, and national craft- and micro-breweries will be poured. There will also be a Homebrew Competition, brewing demonstrations, culinary delights from local restaurants, and live entertainment throughout the day. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Blacksburg Partnership, a non-profit organization working to enhance the quality of life in Blacksburg.

The Blacksburg Square Dance

The NRV's community square dance and a ‘Crooked Road’ affiliated venue - Special Halloween weekend costume dance !! With caller Aaron Ratcliffe - music by ‘Happy Hollow String Band’ with fiddler Emily Reisinger – Appalachian roots music & dance at its best !!- held at the YMCA Y-Center, Stuart Event Room, 1000 North Main St., Blacksburg. Alexander Black House Old Time Jam

November 6, 2014 time: 7-9pm location: Alexander Black House
The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation is launching the Alexander Black House Old Time Jam starting in October and running through May. Join the fun on the first Thursday of every month from 7–9 p.m. inside the house, 204 Draper Road, or out on the covered porch when the weather is warm.
