Blacksburg Farmer's Market

April 18, 2015 time: 8am-2pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
The Blacksburg Farmer's Market happens every week in Blacksburg Market Square (Saturdays only January - March, Wednesdays and Saturdays April - December). Come see live music, sample fresh harvested produce, or spin a hula hoop in the sunshine. More than a market, it's a community gathering place, with a full calendar of entertainment and educational activities. See for lots more information.

2nd Annual Blacksburg Chocolate Festival

April 18, 2015 time: 9am-7pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
The Rotary Club of Blacksburg will present the 2nd Annual Blacksburg Chocolate Festival on Saturday, April 18th. Events for kids and adults include music, magic, a bake-off, a beer and wine garden, a presentation of the movie Chocolat at The Lyric, and lots and lots of chocolate tasting! International Street Fair

April 19, 2015 time: 12-5pm location: College Ave., Downtown Blacksburg
The Virginia Tech Cranwell International Center, along with the Council of International Student Organizations (CISO), will host the 56th annual International Street Fair from noon to 5pm on Sunday, April 19th. College Avenue in downtown Blacksburg will be transformed into a multicultural marketplace where vendors sell international foods, handicrafts, and more. The fair also features live performances of traditional music and dance from around the world, as well as plenty of kid-friendly activities. VT Horticulture Spring Fling: Talks, Tours, and Plant Sale

Take a self-guided tour of three glorious gardens in Blacksburg. Tickets available only at the Hahn Garden during the three day Plant Sale April 23rd-25th hosted by the VT Horticulture Club. Make sure you to take advantage of the amazing array of plants for sale at the Hahn, then purchase your ticket and a map to take the tour on Saturday. Blacksburg Community Strings Spring Concert

April 26, 2015 time: 4pm location: Blacksburg United Methodist Church
The Blacksburg Community Strings, under the baton of Ake-Eric Renqvist, will hold its spring concert on Sunday, April 26, 4pm at the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, 111 Church Street, SE. The concert features soloists Travis Whaley performing Bach's Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor and Daniel B Folta on violin performing Beriot's Scene de Ballet. The program also includes Elegie by Tchaikovsky, Chanson de Nuit and Chanson de Matin by Elgar, and Suite for String Orchestra by Rameau. Admission is free. For more information, visit

3rd Annual Horseshoes & Hats - A Kentucky Derby Casino Night

May 2, 2015 time: 5-10pm location: Alexander Black House
Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. presents Horseshoes & Hats: A Kentucky Derby Casino Night at the Alexander Black House in downtown Blacksburg. This fund raising event will include viewing the Kentucky Derby, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a Fancy Hat contest and Casino games- Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Texas Hold 'em, and River City Horse Racing. 7th Annual Blacksburg Fork and Cork Festival

May 2, 2015 time: Noon to 6pm location: Blacksburg Fork and Cork
The Blacksburg Partnership presents the 7th annual Blacksburg Fork and Cork- a food, wine, and art festival to be held Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 in its new, spacious location at 1600 Innovation Drive in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center. Live music will fill the air while attendees sample a variety of Virginia wine, enjoy fare from favorite local restaurants, and peruse arts and crafts from regional artisans. There will also be cooking demonstrations, and local wine experts will lead interactive seminars at the Wine 101 tent. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Blacksburg Partnership, a non-profit independent economic development organization focused on projects that attract visitors and retail prospects.
