We have been looking at the help wanted section of the classified advertisements in the newspaper. Today we are going to discover another place where one can find employment opportunities.

  1. Name some instances in which you would want to search the Help Wanted Classified Advertisements on the Internet instead of looking in the paper...or even in addition to looking in the newspaperpaper. 
  2. List some common things you find in each classified advertisement. 
  3. What is a common element found in on-line advertisements, that newspaper classified advertisements do not have? AND....give one example of something you might only see in the newspaper classified ads and not in the on-line ads. 
  4. Find 4 advertisements for jobs in other states. List the job title and the name of the state. 
  5. Find 2 advertisements for jobs in other countries. List the job title and the name of the country. 
  6. Find 3 advertisements for jobs that require the applicant to have experience. List the job title. 
  7. List 2 job titles which are new to you. 
  8. Most of the on-line advertisements have a date above them. Why? What is the date of the most recent advertisement? 
  9. Find an advertisement for a job that you are interested in. List below the job title title, date, location and the person or company you would contact to apply. Is there enough information available? What else would you like to know about the job? 
  10. If you were searching for a job, which method would you rather use, the "online" method or the "newspaper" method? Why? List the advantages and disadvantages to both.
