Both lanes of Stanger Street adjacent to McBryde Hall on the Virginia Tech campus are scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic from May 20 to June 16 due to utility work.

Blacksburg Farmer's Market

The Blacksburg Farmer's Market happens every week in Blacksburg Market Square (Saturdays only January - March, Wednesdays and Saturdays April - December). Come see live music, sample fresh harvested produce, or spin a hula hoop in the sunshine. 22nd Annual Wilderness Road Ride

May 25, 2013 time: 7am location: Dedmond Center
The 22nd Annual Wilderness Road Ride takes place Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. A scenic and historical adventure through southwest Virginia’s beautiful New River Valley, the ride follows part of Daniel Boone’s Wilderness Road. This is a ride for the whole family to enjoy, with something for everyone— 6 routes to choose from ranging from a 14 mile relaxed journey for novices, to a 100 mile century challenge for the fittest cyclist. Blacksburg Market Square Jam

June 5, 2013 time: 8-11pm location: Blacksburg Market Square
Blacksburg’s Market Square Jam takes place in the warmer months on Wednesday evenings from 8-11 pm in the Farmers' Market park downtown on the corner of Draper Road and Roanoke Street. Mostly folks playing old time and bluegrass turn up, but it can be any type of folk music as long as it's unplugged. Hahn Horticulture Garden: 9th Annual Garden Gala - Wine and Roses

June 8, 2013 time: 5:30-9pm location: Peggy Lee Hahn Garden Pavilion
Enjoy an enchanted evening in the garden, with wine and roses galore! Featuring live music by the Bakery Boys Jazz Band, fabulous food and drinks from Blue Ridge Catering of Roanoke, and live and silent auctions of rare plants, garden art, vacations, and more.
