Blacksburg Newcomers Club Monthly MeetingSecond Tuesday of each month from September-May. Members provide a warm welcome to the New River Valley with monthly programs, special events, projects to help local charities, and interest groups to share hobbies. Meetings are held at Luther Memorial Church at 600 Prices Fork Road on the corner of Tom's Creek and Prices Fork Roads in Blacksburg. Residents may join at any time after moving to the area for a fee of $20 which includes monthly programs and newsletters. Broadband Mapping InitiativeThe Virginia Tech eCorridors program is supporting an assessment of broadband access to determine the ways in which businesses are connecting to, and using broadband technologies (services and applications). Results from the assessment will be integrated into the Commonwealth's comprehensive broadband mapping initiative that is currently underway and will provide the basis for future broadband policy and training initiatives. eCorridors urges business owners to take advantage of this opportunity to participate in Virginia's statewide assessment of broadband connectivity and access.
