March of Ales

Saturday, March 20, 7 PM. The 2010 March of Ales, the annual fundraising event hosted by the Blacksburg Junior Women's Club, will feature eight beers for tasting, thanks to generous support from Vintage Cellar. Guests will enjoy entertainment by a DJ, dancing, and a live and silent auction. Complimentary designated driver service will be available to Blacksburg and Christiansburg. Designated driver service to outlying areas is available for a fee. Proceeds from March of Ales are used throughout the year to support local charities, especially those serving women and children. blacksburgjuniors.org

VTLUUG Cyber Security Competition

The Linux and Unix Users Group at Virginia Tech will be hosting a Cyber Security Challenge, Tuesday, March 23rd from 7:30-9 PM. This free event is open to all amateur security enthusiasts. For Memories' Sake - the life and work of Angela Singer

Showing two times only, this is the Southwest Virginia premiere of the latest documentary by Virginia Tech film professor, Ashley Maynor. A half-hour documentary, "For Memories' Sake" investigates the life and work of Angela Singer, a Southern homemaker who has taken an average of a dozen photos a day for the last 35 years, compiling a mysterious and strange archive of over 150,000 photographs of her daily life. The Experimental Gallery at Kent Square

The Experiential Gallery for creative technologies is an example of the collaboration of the arts, technology and education at Virginia Tech in support of the university's new Center for Creative Technologies in the Arts and the Arts Initiative. Interactive, new media exhibitions are on display in 216 Kent Square from 10am to 3pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Click Your Way to Better Health

Psychologists in Virginia Tech's College of Science are seeking participants for a newly developed free Internet program that helps people make permanent lifestyle changes to improve their health. "Guide-to-Health" provides the skills, support and information people need to increase physical activity, eat more nutritiously, and prevent weight gain.
