We have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and willsedate fearful patients before and/or during dental appointments.We try to make the dental visit as easy as we can for everyone. We use stereo earphones so patients can listen to their favoriteradio stations. Patients can also bring their own cassette tapesor compact discs to enjoy.I was born; raised and educated in the great state of Nebraska.I received my degree Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Universityof Nebraska in Lincoln in 1975 and am proud the Cornhuskersare once again the National Champions in College Football.(I've been waiting since I was in college in the 70's for them torepeat)! I completed a General Practice Dental Residency withthe US Public Health Service in Baltimore MD and spent twoyears as a staff dental officer at a clinic in Savannah; GA. I have been praciticing in Christiansburg since 1978. My staffis very friendly and includes two assistants; three hygientistswho fill two full-time jobs and a receptionist.We recently computerized the business office and do all appointment scheduling; biilling and accounting on a computer.Most recently we started filing insurance claims electronically; which is really neat and saves a lot of paper (being environmentally concerned). We hope to someday have a computer in each treatment room. The way things are turning hi-tech in dentistry we will need them to run intra-oral cameras and filmless X-ray equipment.We especially like being paid in cash; but will accept checks; credit cards and insurance payments. We are a participant with Blue Cross/Trigon on the state Key Care Dental Program and most other dental insurance plans.The office is decorated in a hot air balloon motif which reflects one of my other interests. I am a hot-air balloon owner and pilot. I am also currently President of The Carolina Balloon Association.
