Configuring Macintosh Mail for POP over SSL
Start the Macintosh email application.
On the main toolbar, click the 'Mail' menu.
On the 'Mail' menu, click 'Preferences...'
This starts the email Preferences window.
Within this window, choose the 'Accounts' tab.
You should see an Account Options window similar to below.
Under the 'Account Information' tab, make sure your account type is 'POP.'
Enter your account's respective description, email address (i.e. jdoe@bev.net), full name, the incoming mail server (i.e. pop.bev.net), your username and your password.
Click the 'Server Settings' button to enter the outgoing mail server options.
Make sure the Server port is set to 25 with out Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or authentication checked.
