Hit Counter Instructions

Step One:

Place an image tag in your HTML document like:

<IMG SRC="http://www.bev.net/cgi-bin/counter.xbm?webserver.bev.net/your/page.html">

Replace "webserver.bev.net/your/page.html" with the URL of your web page.

For Civic users, this would be:
<IMG SRC="http://www.bev.net/cgi-bin/counter.xbm?civic.bev.net/FILEBOXNAME/pagename.html">
For Arts users, this would be:
<IMG SRC="http://www.bev.net/cgi-bin/counter.xbm?arts.bev.net/FILEBOXNAME/pagename.html">

Step Two:

When creating a NEW counter, you may set the starting value by adding a count parameter (HTML code) to the URL. Example:

<IMG SRC="http://www.bev.net/cgi-bin/counter.xbm?webserver.bev.net/your/page.html&COUNT=1234">

If you need more elaborate counter support, you may want to try searching for "access counters" at Yahoo!. You may be able to find one that you can install on your page that has more features.
