How do I set up my email client? When should I change the settings ? Instructions on setting your email client software to use the BEV.NET email service can be found here.

You can change your settings now. These settings will work with BEV.NET email on both old and new servers.

What password should I use when the BEV email service changes ? Before BEV.NET email moves to the new server, use the same password as in the past.  After BEV.NET moves to the new server, you must use the temporary password you specified during your visit to the BEV office. Once you start using the new server, please change your password using the web interface at http://mailadm.bev.net:38/

Is BEV changing my modem pool access ? No. The only change occuring is the server that supports BEV.NET email. You should not change any settings for your modem pool access. References

How do I prepare for the BEV.NET email transition ?

Change your email client software settings to work with the new server. The setttings described here will work on both the old and new servers.

Check your email shortly before BEV switches to the new server.

The morning after the cutover, send an email to yourself at your BEV.NET address. Using your new password, check your mail to verify that incoming mail is working properly.

I filled out the online form to register for a BEV.NET email address, but did not come in to the BEV office to complete the forms. What should I do ? You may come in to the BEV office to sign up for your new BEV.NET email account. References

I have an old BEV.ORG account. Are any changes happening these accounts ? How much will my BEV.ORG email account cost if I decide to renew it ? There are no changes to the BEV.ORG accounts at this time.

BEV.ORG mailboxes will cost the same as BEV.NET mailboxes.

Additional BEV.ORG accounts are no longer being added to the server. New individual email users will receive mailboxes with BEV.NET addresses. References

My @BEV.NET mailbox is out of space! Messages people send to me are being returned to them, and I got a message that I needed to clear space. Make sure that your email client is configured to delete the messages from the server after they are downloaded. If you do not do this, old messages will accumulate on the server, and you will eventually run out of space. References
