BEV Villager Information

What is a BEV Villager?

In an effort to extend some of the BEV features to those in the community who may not have a BEV PID we have developed a new registration system. By becoming a BEV Villager you will be able to add and maintain your own listing in the automated Village Mall, Organization Directory, Job Bank, and list yourself in the Blacksburg Community Directory. We anticipate additional uses for the Community Directory in the future.

As with the implementation of all new systems, there will be a period of adjustment for those who are using the old system. This new system will replace the old Village Mall, the CobWeb listings (local computer consultants for hire), the old Gopher business links, and the BEV Personal Homepage server. If you are currently using these features with your BEV PID we encourage you to register as a BEV Villager and add your listing to the new automated Village Mall and replicate your homepage as part of the Blacksburg Community Directory.

It is very important that you don't register a second time. If you are not sure if you are already a BEV Villager please enter your complete email address (myemail@myprovider) below to find out before you register.

Become a BEV Villager

The process for becoming a BEV Villager begins by choosing a BEV Villager userID (much like a PID) and a BEV Villager password. Once you have successfully registered, this same userID and password will allow you to use all the new BEV services.

You are allowed to use all letters and numbers.
Only the following symbols are allowed: - _ + . * ( )
Your UserID is "case sensitive", this means that if you type "MYUSERID" you will not be able to gain access to your listing using "myuserid".
Please do not use any spaces.
Please remember to jot down your UserID.

Choose a BEV Villager Password

You are allowed to use all letters and numbers.
Only the following symbols are allowed: - _ + . * ( )
Your Password is "case sensitive", this means that if you type "MYPASSWORD" you will not be able to gain access to your listing using "mypassword".
Please do not use any spaces
Please remember to jot down your Password.
Your password must be at least 8 characters.
