LOW MOOR - Koty Collier scored 20 points and the Terriers survived a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer to earn a 55-52 Blue Ridge District boys basketball victory over Alleghany on Thursday.
The win meant the Terriers maintained part of a three-way share of the top spot in the Blue Ridge District.
CHRISTIANSBURG - The Sheri Vaughn farewell tour shifted into a higher gear Thursday as the Hidden Valley boys presented their swim coach with a seventh straight River Ridge District title.

LEXINGTON -- Andrew Rowsey found another way to help Rockbridge County win.
With his team down by one with 11.1 seconds left, he was fouled beyond the 3-point arc, and then sank all three free-throws, which led to a 64-62 Blue Ridge District win over Alleghany on Tuesday.
The race is on for the Blue Ridge District boys basketball championship.
And William Byrd is smack in the middle of it.
In danger of falling three laps down in the standings Tuesday night, Byrd zoomed to a 17-point lead en route to a 60-45 victory over visiting Northside that moved the Terriers within a game of the Vikings in the district standings.
